Vanity

Vanity has been designed for Heal's Re-Discovers bicentennial celebrations. I was inspired by Ambrose Heal's original design as part of the 'Fine Feathers' bedroom suite in 1898. Each of his pieces were carved with a quotation from Rudyard Kipling: 'If this be vanity, who'd be wise?' I've used the same quote inside the drawer for my design, and elsewhere you'll find other small but noticeable details. For instance, instead of being flat underneath the Vanity has a sweeping belly, flocked in a bright, fuchsia pink. Swarovski crystals are also used to hide some of the fixtures and fittings. My hope is that it's these little details that will continue to delight owners for many years to come.
